The Dutch counter-tenor and singing teacher, Hugo Naessens, wanted to be a pianist anbs studied piano with the acclaimed piano teacher Jacques Hendriks. But he soon turned to singing finding it much more enjoyable. He experienced it as more direct and unfiltered than playing the piano. The basis of his career, he has laid by graduating from the Nederlands Conservatorium. When he discovered his voice as coiunter-tenor, he began studying at the Arnhems Conservatorium with Aafje Heynis. From her he received a very thorough education. After graduation he has had more teachers.

Bach, George Frideric Handel, Machaut, Dufay both as a soloist and in ensembles. After a year his first sang Messiah, after three years Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) and after five Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) after five.

In January they recorded a double CD, in May they gave concerts in Dutch tides churches. Polyphony belongs to his absolute favorite repertoire. He has learned this art a lot, especially from Erik van Nevel, to whose ensemble Currende he has belonged for several years.
