1. Lobe den HErren, den mächtigen König der Ehren,
meine geliebete Seele, das ist mein Begehren.
Kommet zu Hauf,
Psalter und Harfe wacht auf,
lasset die Musika hören. |
1. Praise the Lord, the mighty King of Glory,
my dear/beloved Soul, that is my desiring/what I am desiring.
Come to the assembly (heap, crowd),
psalter and harp wake [them] up,
let [plural imperative] [the] music be heard. |
1. Praise the good Lord, the all-powerfulKing of All Glory,
O dear soul, that is my wish, my desire, my story.
Come join the crowd,
play harp and psaltery loud!
Let music be telling this Glory. |

2. Lobe den HErren, der alles so herrlich regieret,
der dich auf Adelers Fittichen sicher geführet,
der dich erhält,
wie es dir selber gefällt;
hast du nicht dieses verspüret? |
2. Praise the Lord, who everything so splendidly rules [over],
who thee on eagle’s wings hast led/conducted,
who thee preserves/supports,
the way (how) to thee thyself is pleasing;
hast thou not this noticed/perceived? |
2. Praise the good Lord who rules all creation so grandly,
who’s taken you high up on eagle’s wings, leading you safely,
who’s kept you from harm
and happy you felt no alarm.
Haven’t you felt this already? |

3. Lobe den HErren, der künstlich und fein dich bereitet,
der dir Gesundheit verliehen, dich freundlich geleitet;
in wie viel Not
hat nicht der gnädige Gott
über dir Flügel gebreitet! |
3. Praise the Lord, who artfully and finely thee prepares,
who thy health [hast] bestowed, thee friendly/kindly accompanies/escorts;
in how much need/many times of need
has not the gracious God.
over thee wings spread! |
3. Praise the good Lord, who with art and with grace made you ready,
who gave you your health and accompanies you now so kindly.
In what great need,
has not your kind, gracious God
sheltered you, His wings spread widely? |

4. Lobe den HErren, der deinen Stand sichtbar gesegnet,
der aus dem Himmel mit Strömen der Liebe geregnet;
denke daran,
was der Allmächtige kann,
der dir mit Liebe begegnet. |
4. Praise the Lord, who thy situation perceptibly/visibly blesses/has blessed,
who out of the Heaven(s) with streams of love rains [down]/has rained [down],
think upon this,
what the almighty can [do],
who thee with love meets/encounters. |
4. Praise the good Lord, who so visibly blesses your living.
who from the Heavens great streams of His love has been pouring!
Think about this,
the power of this Lord of bliss,
Who in His love you are meeting. |

5. Lobe den HErren, was in mir ist, lobe den Namen,
alles, was Odem hat, lobe mit Abrahams Samen.
Er ist dein Licht,
Seele, vergiß es ja nicht,
lobende, schließe mit Amen. |
5. Praise the Lord, what/that which in me is, praise the Name,
all what breath/life has, praise with Abraham’s seed/descendents.
He is thy light,
Soul forget it yes not (don’t forget it)
praising, close with AMEN. |
5. Praise the good Lord, oh with all of your heart now praise His Name!
All that has breath sing His praise now with Abraham’s children!
He is your light;
dear soul don’t ever forget,
praising Him, end with YES! AMEN! |
