Sorgen, Zagen,
Angst und Not
sind der Christen Tränenbrot,

Weeping, wailing,
worries, woes,
anguish and despair
are the bread of tears for Christians
who bear the mark of Jesus. |

in das Reich Gottes eingehen. |
We must traverse great tribulation
to enter the kingdom of God. |

Whatever God does, is rightly done
by this I do remain,
though I be upon the rugged path
driven by despair, death and misery
still God,
fully as a father,
