The Swiss counter-tenor and pianist, Simon Savoy, Born in 1978 in the canton of Fribourg, Simon Savoy discovered early his love for singing in the children's choir and with the family. At the of 8 he began to play the piano. He studied at Collège du Sud in Bulle, Fribourg. His piano studies initially led him to Christine Slongo to the Konservatorium Fribourg, where in he graduated in 2001, receiving his teaching diploma "with excellence". Upon the recommendation Karl Engel he then entered the concert class of Professopr Karl-Andreas Kolly at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Zürich Winterthur (ZHdK). In 2005, he received his concert diploma with distinction. Since 1994, he regularly takes singing lessons with Nicole Fallien and Frédéric Faye in Paris and so has continued, in addition to his pianistic activity, to be devoted intensively to the singing.
The musical dedication of Simon Savoy is very versatile. He performs as a soloist at the piano or as a singer (alto) and as a chamber musician and accompanist. In addition, he already has a rich experience as a chorister of the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne, under the direction of Michel Corboz, with which he has undertaken worldwide tours since 2006. He is also a member of the Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen under the direction of Rudolf Lutz. As part of the concert "Regards sur la Passion" he sang in March 2010 as a soloist in J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) at the Cathedral in Lausanne. In June and July 2010 he accompanied on the piano the choir of the Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon, under the direction Michel Corboz in Petite Messe Solenelle by Rossini in Leiria (Portugal), Paris and Deauville. He was invited by the Festival Bach-en-Combrailles, where he was heard in August 2010 as a soloist along with the ensemble Abendmusik and with the Orchestre Régional d'Auvergne under Arie van Beek he in J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 169 for alto solo and in other works. In December 2010, he performed as soloist with the Musikverein Helvetia Ruti-Tannon Robert Schumann's Piano Concerto, on the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth.
In 2005, Simon Savoy was awarded from the Lion's Club, the Rotary Club and the Pro Juventute Veveyse of Châtel-St-Denis, the Interclubs/Réussite prize.
In addition to his activities as a singer and pianist, Simon Savoy taught piano and singing in his private class in Bossonnens in the Canton of Fribourg. |
