The Belgian mezzo-soprano and music therapist, Mieke Wouters [Wouter], obtaind her master's degree in music therapy from the Lemmensinstituut Leuven. She is also laureate in music pedagogy from the same institute. She studied singing with Liane Jespers at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Antwerpen (Royal Conservatory of Antwerp.
Since 1993 Mieke Wouters works as as a freelancer; since January 1994 with the Collegium Vocale Gent, conducted by Philippe Herreweghe. She is a member Beroepsvereniging van Muziektherapeuten vzw (Association of Music Therapists). She specializes in experiential group therapy FMS Turnhout, following regular training of Nonviolent Communication. She works as music therapist at FOD Justitie since November 2009. In January 2010 she founded and manages Klanklabo (Sound Lab). |
