Randol Rodriguez-Rubio (Tenor, Piano)

Born: Camagüey, Cuba

The Cuban tenor and pianist, Randol Rodriguez-Rubio, spent his youth in Cuba, where followed his main musical training, first for the piano at the Conservatoire de Musique de Camaguey (1993-1997) and then in singing and choral conducting at the Université des Arts de Cuba (1999-2003). He completed his musical education in 2000 with a master-class with Daniel Barenboim (piano). In parallel, he sang in the National Choir of Cuba and the Chorus Exaudi (1999-2003).

In France, Randol Rodriguez-Rubio puts his talent at the service of many vocal ensembles which allow him to meet the students and friends of Ariel Alonso: Ensemble Pygmalion (Director: Raphaël Pichon; since 2009), Ensemble Aedes, Les Cris de Paris, after having also been a member of the choir of the Église de la Madeleine. He then added: collaborations with the Ensemble Correspondances (2013), with the choir Arsys Bourgogne (Director: Pierre Cao) (2012). Since 2011, he is a member of the ensemble Solistes XXI as well as of the Concert spirituel and Le Concert d'Astrée (Director: Emmanuelle Haïm).

Randol Rodriguez-Rubio was an accompanying pianist of the Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Louis (2005-2009). Since 2006, he is a Professor of music EDUCATION at the École Municipale des Arts in Orly.

Still in France, Randol Rodriguez-Rubio has participated in numerous musical events: Saison musicale à l'Opéra Royal and the Royal Chapelle Royale du Château de Versailles (2011-2013), Festival de Sablé (2012), La Folle Journée de Nantes (2011) , Festival international de piano La Roque d'Anthéron (2011), Saison musicale à l'Opéra de Bordeaux (2010-2013), Festival international d'opéra baroque de Beaune (2010-2013), Festival d'Ambronnay (2010 & 2013), Festival de Saintes (2010), Festival de musique de la Chaise-Dieu (2009-2013), 50th anniversary of France Festivals - Montpellier (2009), Biennale d'art vocal à la Cité de la musique (2008 & 2013) , Saison musicale de Royaumont (2008, 2011, 2012 & 2013). He has extended his reputation abroad: Festival Segni Barocchi, Foligno, Italy (2013), Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele (2013), Klarfestival (2012-2013), Musical tour in China and Korea (2012), Kaija Saariaho-Carnegie Hall 2011-2012 "composer-in-residence" (2012), Rheingau Music Festival, Wiesbaden, Germany (2012), Musikfest Bremen (2010-2013). He currently lives in Paris, France.
