The American-born baritone, Pierre-Guy Le Gall White, began singing when he was ten with the San Francisco Boys Choir and later at San Francisco Mens Choir and the San Francisco Symphony Chorus and Oakland Symphony Chorus. He studied at the Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio and at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam with Max van Egmond, Peter Kooy and Howard Crook.
Since finishing his studies, Pierre-Guy Le Gall White has performed with various ensembles in the Netherlands, France, Italy ë and Germany in the larger works by J.S. Bach, including Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248), Mass in B minor (BWV 232), Magnificat (BWV 243) and four Lutheran masses (BWV 233-242), and in Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) and Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) in the roles of Christus and Pilatus. He has sung in more than a hundred J.S. Bach's cantatas.
Pierre-Guy Le Gall White sings regularly with Cappella Amsterdam (Director: Daniel Reuss), De Nederlandse Bachvereniging (Director: Jos van Veldhoven) and the Groot Omroepkoor (Netherlands Radio Choir) and other ensembles, as a member of the choir and as a soloist. In addition, he has sung solos with Orchestra of the 18th Century, and Cantico d’Archi (Director: Ronald Threels), and can be heard regularly on NPO radio 4, the public channel for classical music. |
