The Italian soprano, Anna Simboli, studied piano and cello before dedicating herself to singing, obtaining a diploma in lyric singing and teaching singing at the Conservatorio A. Boito di Parma and in chamber vocal music at the Conservatorio L. Cherubini di Firenze. Later she perfected herself in the Baroque repertoire with Rossana Bertini, in the Lieder one with Liliana Poli and Leonardo De Lisi and in the operatic one with William Matteuzzi and Bernadette Manca di Nissa.
Anna Simboli is an appreciated interpreter of the Baroque and classical repertoire up to the romantic and contemporary. She carries out an intense concert activity as a soloist, in chamber ensembles and in operatic roles, in Italy and abroad under the conductors: Rinaldo Alessandrini, Diego Fasolis, Bruce Dickey, Martin Gester, Federico Maria Sardelli, René Clemencic, Kristjan Järvi, Alan Curtis, Leonardo García-Alarcón, Gianluca Capuano, Romano Adami. She regularly collaborates with Concerto Italiano (Director: Rinaldo Alessandrini; since 2000), Coro della Radio Svizzera (Director: Diego Fasolis; since 1999), De Labyrinto, I Barocchisti (Director: Diego Fasolis), Atalanta Fugiens, Il canto di Orfeo, Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, Coro da Camera Ricercare Ensemble. She is co-founder with the harpsichordist Francesco Moi of the ensemble Accademia degli Invaghiti. She takes part in important festivals and concert seasons singing in the main Italian, European, American, Asian and Oceania theaters.
Anna Simboli's discography includes over 60 titles for the record companies Naive, Naxos, Tactus, Cantus, Arts, Symphonia, Stradivarius, Amadeus, obtaining numerous awards such as Diapason d'Or, Choc du Monde de la Musique, Goldberg 5 stars, Grammophone Award. She has recorded for radio and television broadcasters such as: RAI Radio3, RTSI Svizzera Italiana, BBC Great Britain, ORF Austria, VTL Belgium, RN Holland, Mediaset.
In 2017, Anna Simboli sang at the Carnegie Hall in New York in L’incoronazione di Poppea, then touring China, Australia and Japan with Orfeo and Il Vespro della Beata Vergine.
Anna Simboli was a lecturer in singing at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Nicolini” di Piacenza (2015-2016). She teaches Renaissance and Baroque singing at the Conservatorio di musica "Stanislao Giacomantonio" di Cosenza (since 2013) and at the Conservatorio "A. Casella" de L’Aquila (since 2016). Since January 2017, she teaches at Conservatorio G.B.Martini in Bologna. |
