The Gerrman soprano, Simone Schwark, was a young student at the Musikhochschule Freiburg with Beata Heuer-Christen and was firstprize winner winner at the German Musiziert Jugend in the solo vocal category. She studied elementary music education, vocal pedagogy, Lied and opera singing at the at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart and Musikhochschule Frankfurt, most recently with Thomas Heyer. Master-classes at the International Bach Academy with Dunja Vejzović, Klesie Kelly and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau rounded off her education. She is currently working with Carol Meyer-Bruetting in Frankfurt.
Simone Schwark gained her first opera experience at the Jungen Oper der Staatsoper Stuttgart as a soloist in Masque Cupid and Death by O. Gibbons. This was followed by the role of Helena in Benjamin Britten's Midsummer Night's Dream at the Opernschule Frankfurt, a co-production with the Oper Frankfurt. At the Rheingau-Musikfestival 2007, she sang the role of Ninfa in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo under the musical direction of Gabriel Garrido. In 2008, she was at the Weilburger Schlosskonzerten as La Colpa in Alessandro Scarlatti's oratorio of the same name under the musical direction of Michael Schneider as well as Barbara in Emma und Eginhard by Georg Philipp Telemann at the Stadttheater Gießen. In the 2008-2009 season, she was engaged at the Stadttheater Gießen, as Eurilla in Orlando Paladino by Haydn (recorded by HR and Deutschlandradio) as well as Constance in Benatzky' revue operetta Die drei Musketiere. At the Internationalen Maifestspielen am Staatstheater Wiesbaden she has already appeared as a guest several times: in 2010 as Drusilla in Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea, in 2011 as Venus in John Blows Masque Venus and Adonis and in 2012 as Oriana in George Frideric Handel's Amadigi di Gaula, with the ensemble Mattiacis In 2011, she performed the role of Pamina in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. In 2012 she was a guest at the Internationalen Händelfestspielen Göttingen and sang under the direction of Stefan Kordes the first soprano in G.F. Handel's Dixit Dominus / Karmelitervesper. She jumped once spontaneous as Oriana in a performance of G.F. Handel's Amadigi di Gaula conducted by Andrew Parrott.
Simone Schwark's repertoire in oratorio ranges from the Renaissance through the Baroque oratorios, Classical and Romantic to contemporary compositions. She works with ensembles such as the Johann Rosenmüller Ensemble, Barockorchester L'arpa festante, Concerto con Anima and conductors such as Winfried Toll, Christoph Siebert and Carlos Spierer and has participated in several CD / Radio and television productions. In addition, she is a member of the ensemble in Paradiso Frankfurt, focusing on the music of the era of the 16th century under the direction of Andreas Küppers. She is devoted with particular interest, together with the pianist Anna Naretto also the srt songs singing, both the German Lieder and the works of Spanish and French composers.
In 2014, Simone Schwark was involved Johann-Rosenmüller Ensemble in the first recording of Daniel Bollius Johannes-Oratorium together in the role of Archangel Gabriel. In 2017, will be published a CD of Christoph Graupner's cantatas conducted by Florian Heyerick by the CPO label, and another CD with G.P. Telemann cantatas together with the Johann Rosenmüller Ensemble by Christophorus Records.
Since 2015 Simone Schwark has taught singing at the Justus Liebig Universität Giessen. She currently lives in Frankfurt and performs as a soloist both in oratorio and the opera area. |
