The Spanish lautenist, Miguel Angel Ramirez Rincón, studied at Manuel Castillo School of Music (Sevilla, Spain) with Juan Carlos Rivera where he received First Class Honours with distinction. Later he completed Master ́s degree under Xavier Díaz Latorre at Esmuc (The High School Music of Barcelona) and a further Master’s degree (Master in concert performance as soloist) at Zürich Hochschule Kunste der Musik, where he received lessons from Eduardo Egüez. He has attended numerous master-classes given by notable contemporary lutenists, such as: Rolf Lislevand, Robert Barto, Paul O'Dette, Hopkinson Smith,, etc in addition to studying chamber music with Vittorio Ghielmi, Paolo Pandolfo, Gabriel Garrido, and others.
Miguel Rincón is a lutenist playing a wide repertoire of early music on plucked string-instruments: Medieval Lute, Renaissance lute, Baroque lute, Baroque guitar, Vihuela, Chitarrone, Archlute and romantic guitar. He plays with a large number of renowned ensembles who are specialised in new ways of establishing authentic performance of Early Music and developing new methods for the improvisation. Miguel Rincón is currently a freelance performing musician living in Basel, Switzerland.. Miguel Rincón has made a number of acclaimed recordings for Warner Erato and Decca with ensembles such as Orfeo 55 (Director: Nathalie Stutzmann), on Warner Erato label) Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, I Barocchisti (Director: Diego Fasolis, on Decca label), Il Pomo d'Oro, Musiciens du Prince (Cecilia Bartoli/Gianluca Capuano), Capella Gabetta, Academia del Piacere (Fahmi AlqhaiGlossa & Harmonia Mundi labels), Seville Baroque Orchestra [Pierre Cao, Enrico Onofri…], etc. As a soloist, he has three solo recordings: one on the Baroque Lute dedicated to J.S. Bach (Carpe Diem Records); one on Renaissance lute with works by Spinacino, Schlick, Attaignant & Jan Ambrosio Dalza (Lindoro Records); and another one dedicated to Spanish Baroque guitar music (Lindoro Records).
