Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied,
die Gemeine der Heiligen soll ihn loben.
Lobet ihn mit Pauken und Reigen,
lobet ihn mit Saiten und Pfeiffen,
alles, was Odem hat,
lobe den Herrn, Halleluja. |
Sing to the Lord a new song,
the communion of saints shall praise him.
Praise him with timbrel and dancing;
praise him with strings and pipes,
all that has breath,
praise the Lord, Halleluiah. |

Herr Gott dich loben wir,
Gott, daß du unser Hort
und unser Heiland bist.
Herr Gott wir danken dir.
Mit Jauchtzen gehen wir fort
und suchen, Herr, dein Angesicht,
denn deine Gnade reicht,
so weit der Himmel ist,
und deine Wahrheit reicht,
so weit die Wolken gehen.
Herr Gott dich loben wir
daß noch dein helles Licht
in unserm Lande scheint.
O! Gott, wie groß ist deine Güte,
die es so treu mit Kindern meint!
Vergiß das liebende Gemüte
mein Zion, ja! vergiß es nicht.
Herr Gott wir danken dir. |
Lord God we praise you,
God, that you are our refuge
and our Savior.
Lord God we thank you.
With jubilation we go forth
and seek, Lord, your countenance,
for your mercy reaches
as wide as the heavens
and your truth stretches
as far as the clouds proceed.
Lord God we praise you
that your bright light
still shines in our land.
O! God, how great is your goodness,
which you so faithfully intend for your children!
Forget this loving nature,
my Zion, indeed, forget it not.

Lobe Zion deinen Gott,
lobe herrlich seinen Nahmen.
Auf! erzähle, denke dran
was der Herr an uns getan,
darum bete für ihn an,
rühme seines Wortes Samen. |
Praise, Zion, your God,
gloriously praise his name.
Arise! proclaim, ponder this:
what the Lord has done for us,
thus pray to him
extol the seeds of his word. |

Herr, wenn dein Evangelium,
die Himmels-Lehre
nicht unser Trost gewesen wäre,
so hätt uns Not und Tod
zu Boden unterdrückt.
Das ist des Lebens-Brot,
das unserm Geiste Kraft,
das unsrer Seele Labsal schafft,
und mit der Seeligkeit erquickt.
Hier ist Gerechtigkeit, des Glaubens-Schild
die nur vor Gott im Himmel gilt. |
Lord, if your gospel,
heaven’s doctrine
had not been our solace,
thus would agony and death
have pushed us to the ground.
This is the bread of life
that bolsters our spirit,
that provides our soul‘s refreshment,
and revives it in bliss.
Here is righteousness, the emblem of faith,
which is valid before God in heaven. |

Nun Gott, dir opfern wir
der Lippen Frucht dafür,
wir, die wir uns nach deinen Namen nennen,
und Christum, deinen Sohn, bekennen.
Nimm ferner deine Kirch in acht,
daß sie wie auf den Fels
je mehr und mehr gegründet werde.
Vermehre deine kleine Herde
in deiner Hand steht Kraft und Macht. |
Now God, we offer to you
the fruits of our lips, for this,
we, who call ourselves by your name
and confess Christ, your Son.
Continue to attend to your church
that it, as upon a rock,
forever and ever be grounded.
Increase your tiny flock
in your hand lies the power and might. |

Es danke Gott und lobe dich,
das Volk in guten Taten.
Das Land bringt Frucht und bessert sich,
dein Wort ist wohlgeraten.
Uns segne Vater und der Sohn,
uns segne Gott der Heil'ge Geist,
dem alle Welt die Ehre tu,
für ihm sich fürchte allermeist,
nun sprecht von Herzen: Amen. |
The people thank and praise you God,
in good deeds;
the land brings forth fruit and flourishes,
your word is well advised.
Bless us Father and the Son,
and bless us God the Holy Spirit,
whom all the world does honor,
fear him above all things
and speak from the heart: Amen. |
