The Japanese soprano, Aki Yanagisawa, is a graduate of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in vocal performance, and is currently completing her Master’s degree in opera at the same university. She was placed third overall in the fifth annual Japanese Vocal Music Competition in 1993. Receiving the top award in the Japanese Art Song Section.
Aki Yanagisawa’s operatic roles include Suzanna in W.A. Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, and she has appeared as a soloist in performances of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah, L.v. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and J.S. Bach’s cantatas, as well as numerous other works in the church music repertoire. |
