The guy who wrote the Fanfare feature on her (a couple of months ago) sure shredded the truth, though, being completely clueless about meantone and about the way the short octave works in the bass of an organ. He totally made up stuff that makes no technical sense at all. I wrote a sharp letter about that to the editor, and copied Dr Toth on it; she responded that her husband (the producer) had also written something similar to them a few days earlier, i.e. as soon as the issue came out, all three of us being similarly aghast at what was printed. I haven't seen yet what corrections (if any) Fanfare is going to print as follow-up. Hopefully, something. |
