Gottlob Christian Albrecht was born the son of Johann Christian Albrecht (Rector in Borna). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on May 12, 1732; studied there from 1732 to 1743; and at Universität Leipzig from 1743. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. After his studies, he was Pastor in Rittwitz (1751). His younger brothers were also Thomaners: Gottlieb Christian Albrecht (1720-1787) in 1735-1746; Gotthelf Christian Albrecht (1724-unknown) in 1741-1747. |
