Gotthelf Christian Albrecht (Bach's Pupil) |
Born: October 10, 1724 - Borna, near Leipzig, Saxony, Germany
Died: not determined |
Gotthelf Christian Albrecht was born the son of Johann Christian Albrecht (Rector in Borna). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on August 4, 1741; studied there from 1741 to 1747, since November 1738 already as external; and at Universität Leipzig from 1747. As a Thomaner he was in Choir II from May 17, 1744 (Pentecost) to June 6, 1745 (Pentecost). Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. His elder brothers were also Thomaners: Gottlob Christian Albrecht (1718-1775) in 1732-1743; Gottlieb Christian Albrecht (1720-1787) in 1735-1746. |
