Maria Deger (Soprano)

Born: 1985 - Lower Bavaria, Germany

The German soprano, Maria Deger (née Weber), studied singing with Maria Cristina Kiehr at the Hochschule für Alte Musik in Trossingen. She obtained her Bachelor of Music degree at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Ulrich Messthaler and Evelyn Tubb. She attended master-classes with Margreet Honig, Kurt Widmer and Emma Kirkby, among others. She currenly studies for Master's degree at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

Maria Deger participated in concerts with Novantik Project Basel. She has appeared as a soloist and ensemble singer, among others, recently in the musical theater production "Ars vivendi" under the baton of Anthony Rooley. In 2014, she sang for the first time with the Chor & Orchester der J.S. Bach-Stiftung (Director: Rudolf Lutz). Currently she gives concerts as as a soloist and ensemble singer and works as vocal coach of Chorgemeinschaft Counterpoint. She got married in July 2021 and changed her name.
