Monika Mauch (Soprano)

Born: Geislingen an der Steige, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

The German soprano, Monika Mauch, studied singing with Richard Wistreich at the Institute for Early Music of Trossingen conservatory where she obtained her diploma. She also studied with Jill Feldman in Paris and gave interpretation courses in Lisbon and Jerusalem.

In her concert programmes, CDs and radio broadcasts Monika Mauch has continued to develop her specialisation in early music, working with such renowned ensembles as the Taverner Consort of London (Director: Andrew Parott), the ensembles Ricercar Consort and the wind ensemble La Fenice, Baroque Orchestra L'Arpa Festante of Munich, L'Orfeo Barockorchester (Director: Michi Gaigg) of Linz, Ensemble Deadalus of Geneva, Musica Fiata Köln, Cantus Cölln, and with the Double Bande under the direction of René Jacobs.

In the field of medieval music Monika Mauch works closely with the ensemble Ordo Virtutum. She is also interested in contemporary music.

Recently Monika Mauch participated in the recording of the new CD’s Morimur and Ricercar with Hilliard Ensemble. Among her pupils and/or singers who have attended her master-classes: Joachim Streckfuß (Tenor).
