The German tenor and conductor, Martin Krumbiegel, was formerly a member of the Leipzig St. Thomas Choir. He studied musicology at the University of Leipzig receiving his doctorate in 1994, and received private tuition in voice technique.
Since 1987, alongside his job as junior lecturer in musicology at the Leipzig College of Music and Drama, Martin Krumbiegel has accepted numerous commitments as both concert and oratorio tenor in Germany and abroad, including his regular solo appearances in the Leipzig St. Thomas Choir‘s performances of the Bach cantatas.
Martin Krumbiegel also directs the Leipziger Oratorienchor, in which capacity he has participated in several international conducting courses, under Helmuth Rilling among others. |
