Indiana University Baroque/Classical Orchestra (Instrumental Ensemble)

Founded: Bloomington, Indiana, USA

The Indiana University Baroque/Classical Orchestra (= IUBO) is a major ensemble whose members perform on period instruments - instruments restored to their original specifications, or copies of original 17th and 18th century instruments - which are provided by the school. The repertoire performed is selected from music composed in the 17th and 18th century. No prior experience is necessary. "Seating" rotates, and the opportunity exists for all players to gain experience both in leading and concertante playing.
