Histor: |
The Bloomington Bach Cantata Project brings together students, faculty, and professional artists from around the region to present a unique series of lecture concerts.
These are public performances of church cantatas by J.S. Bach. The works are offred in performances modeled after J.S. Bach's own, and are heard twice with a lecture in between. |
Mission: |
The goal is to present J.S. Bach's cantatas in a historically informed manner, using performing forces, instruments and stylistic approaches that were available to the composer where possible. But more importantly, we want to share this important repertory with students, professional musicians and the listening audience. |
