The Belgian tenor, Ives Van Handenhove, sang as a young soprano with the Petits Chanteurs in Dulci Jubilo at Sint-Niklaas. He graduated as a commercial engineer from the Catholic University of Louvain (1989-1994). After working as an economist for a few years (Data Analyst at MarketResponse in Gent, 1995-2000), he decided to pursue a musical career. He followed a two-year singing course taught by Guy de Mey at the Royal Conservatory Antwerp (2001-2003), followed by private lessons from Anne Cambier and Lucienne Van Deyck.
From 2004 to 2008, Ives Van Handenhove was a permanent member of the Vlaams Radio Koor. Later on, he became a freelance singer with several professional ensembles such as Graindelavoix directed by Björn Schmelzer (since 2004), Il Fondamento (Director: Paul Dombrecht), La Petite Bande (Director: Sigiswald Kuijken), Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe; since 2007) and the Nederlandse Bachvereniging (Director: Jos van Veldhoven; since 2010), Ensemble BachPlus (Director: Bart Naessens) in Aalst (since March 2013), and Rosas vzw (2011-October 2013).
Ives Van Handenhove also worked as Data Analyst at Compagnie cv in Gent (2000-2008); Consultant at Strategus in Antwerp 2008-2009; and lFreelance data analyst at Rogil (2010-July 2013). |
