The Dutch soprano, Loes Groot Antink, has studied French and German in Tilburg, before she began her vocal studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag (Royal Conservatory in The Hague). She studied there with Wout Oosterkamp. During her studies she participated in master-classes with Emma Kirkby and Anthony Rolfe-Johnson. She also participated in the the opera class, where she worked with, among others, the director Carl van der Plas. She graduated in 1991. Afterwards she studied with Marianne Dieleman and Bernarda Fink. Currently she is coached by Barbara Pearson and Peter Nilsson.
Loes Groot Antink is a member of the Groot Omroepkoor (Netherlands Radio Choir) since 1998. Additionally she sang many years with in the Amsterdam Baroque Choir under the direction of Ton Koopman.
As a soloist Loes Groot Antink has appeared in, among others, in W.A. Mozart's Requiem , Mass in C minor and Exsultate Jubilate; Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn, Te Deum from Quattro Pezzi Sacri by Verdi, Miserere by Allegri, Judas Maccabaeus by George Frideric Handel and Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) by J.S. Bach. She also sang both Belinda and Dido in Dido and Aeneas by Purcell and the role of Catherine in Le mariage aux lanternes by Jaques Offenbach . |
