The German choral conductor, Cornelia Ewald, studied at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik in Halle (Saale), where she passed her A-examination in church music in 1990.
Her professional stations are working as a church musician in Lübben/Spreewald, working as a choir assistant at the Staatstheater in Cottbus and working iat the Friedenskirche in Berlin-Niederschönhausen. She has conducted several performances of J.S. Bach's entire Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) at the Gethsemanekirche in Prenzlauer Berg, as well as major oratorios such as George Frideric Handel's Messiah, Joseph Haydn's Schöpfung and Felix Mendelssohn's Eliah.
From 2016 to 2021, Cornelia Ewald also worked as a state singer for the Evangelische Landeskirche Berlin-Brandenburg, Schlesische Oberlausitz (EKBO). Since May 2021 she has been a full-time church musician in the Paul-Gerhardt-Gemeinde Lichtenberg. She is also Artistic Director of Bach bewegt e.V., Berlin. She currently lives in Lübben, Brandenburg, Germany. |
