The German organist and conductor, Klaus Eichhorn, studied Church Music and harpsichord at the College of Music (West) Berlin. From 1972 to 1981 he worked as training representative at the State & Cathedral Choir Berlin.
Klaus Eichhorn was joint founder of the Musicali Compagney (considered as one of the first internationally ensembles with historical instruments) and in 1981 founded the Capella Cantorum. As a director/conductor of this group as well as a guest with many other ensembles such as Fiori Musicali (Bremen), Musica Fiata (Cologne) and Concerto Palatino (Bologna) he participated in numerous concerts, photographs and festivals. Organ solo concerts supplement these various activities.
Beyond that Klaus Eichhorn is lecturer in organ and basso continuo playing in Halle and Berlin (University for Church Music). After many years of teaching activity, he was appointed in 1994 professor for Ancient Music at the Bremen Academy for Art. His principal field of activity lies in the sacred music of the 16th to 18th centuries. |
