Musica Fiata was founded in 1976 by Roland
Wilson as an ensemble for the performance of music of the 16th and 17th centuries on period instruments. A detailed study of the sources of the performance practice of the original instruments of this era and their playing techniques led to the development of a speaking style of playing and a characteristic sound, even the densest structures can appear transparent.
Due to their exciting and virtuosic performances Musica Fiata has become a regulatr guest at leading festivals such as, Bruges, Prague, Copenhagen, Utrecht, Barcelona, Venice, Ravenna, Israel, Ansbach, Graz, Wroclaw, York, invited.
Besides numerous radio and TV recordings Musica Fiata has recorded 30 CD’s on Sony Classical, Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, Pure Classics and CPO labels, of which several have been awarded international recording prizes. In 2012 appeared cthe album "Sonate à 2, 3, 4, e 5" by Johann Rosenmüller on CPO. |
