The American baritone, Ryne Cherry, studied at The Niceville Senior High in Niceville, Florida (Class of 2005). He studied Performance: Voice at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida (Class of 2010 ), and at The Boston Conservatory.
Ryne Cherry is an opera, oratorio, and ensemble singer based in Boston, Massachusetts. His opera roles include Forester in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen, Mustafa in Rossini's L' italiana in Algeri, Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance and Belcore in L’elisir d’amore with Opera Providence, and Mr. Ford (cover) in The Merry Wives of Windsor with Boston Midsummer Opera. His recent oratorio solo performances include W.A. Mozart's Requiem, Maurice Duruflé's Requiem, Rossini's Petite messe solennelle, and Carissimi’s Jepthe.
Ryne Cherry has premiered numerous new works by acclaimed composers such as Dominick DiOrio's opera The Little Blue One, Keith Kusterer's chamber piece Echelon, Nazaykinskaya's opera The Magic Mirror, Dean's opera Lucius, and Kallembach's oratorio The Tryal of Father Christmas.
In the 2014-2015 season, Ryne Cherry was seen as Mendel in Fiddler on the Roof with Ash Lawn Opera, Elder McLean, and Rev. Olin Blitch (Young Artist tour performances and mainstage cover) in Floyd's Susannah, Tomsky in Tchaikovsky's Pikovaya Dama (The Queen of Spades) with Lowell House Opera, Sheriff in Flotow's Martha with Boston Midsummer Opera, and as an ensemble member in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni and La Traviata with Boston Lyric Opera. In the 2015-2016 season, he could be seen performing in Boston Lyric Opera's La Boheme and The Merry Widow, in concert as an ensemble member with The Orpheus Singers of Boston, and weekly as a bass soloist and ensemble member of the presitigious St. Paul's Cathedral Choir in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. In June 2016, he was Vocal Fellow at Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. |
