the Italian bass amd musicologist, Guglielmo Buonsanti, studied at Liceo Scientifico GB Quadri in Vicenza (1998-2003). He began his musical studies with Margherita Dalla Vecchia and continues at Conservatorio "A. Pedrollo" of Vicenza in the class of composition and organ composition of Maestro. Lorenzo Signorini. He continues his singing studies with Lia Serafini, Antonella Gianese, Patrizia Vaccari, Marco Scavazza, Baltazar Zuniga. In February 2010 he obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Musicology at the Faculty of Musicology at the University of Pavia, based in Cremona. He is currently enrolled at the Conservatorio "A. Pedrollo" of Vicenza to the second level academic course of Renaissance and Baroque singing under the guidance of Patrizia Vaccari (Class of 2015).
As a chorister and soloist Guglielmo Buonsanti attended the master-class of early music organized by the Consorzio dei Conservatori del Veneto with conductors such as Ton Koopman, Christopher Hogwood, Roy Goodman and Alfredo Bernardini. He attended classes taught by Diego Fratelli on the theory and Renaissance repertoire and Giacomo Baroffo on the Gregorian repertoire. He participated in master-classes organized by Rovigo Musica Antica from 2010 to 2013 on the deepening of the sacred Italian repertoire of the 15th-17th-centuries with teachers such as Walter Testolin, Lia Serafini, Marco Scavazza. He attended the master-class on Italian operatic repertoire of the 17th century with Sara Mingardo in courses of Rovigo Musica Antica in 2012. He worked as a backup singer to "Bach Project" in Vicenza from 2002 to 2010 with Maestro Michael Radulescu with the performance of motets and sacred cantatas by J.S. Bach.
Guglielmo Buonsanti works regularly as a chorister and soloist in different ensembles, including Ensemble De Labyrintho (Director: Walter Testolin), Arìon Choir & Consort (Director: G. Prandi), Ensemble Cantar Lontano (Director: Marco Mencoboni), Il Canto di Orfeo (Director: Gianluca Capuano). In 2009 and 2010 he took part as a chorister in the staging of Il turco in italia by G. Rossini and Don Pasquale by G. Donizetti at the Festival Le Settimane Musicali at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza directed by G.B. Rigon. Since 2006 he participates, as a soloist and choir member in Coro ostanzo Porta di Cremona (Director: Antonio Greco), collaborating with the Venice Baroque Orchestra (Director: Andrea Marcon, Ensemble Elyma (Director: G. Garrido), Accademia Bizantina (Director: Ottavio Dantone), La Risonanza (Director: Fabio Bonizzoni), The Tallis Scholars (Director: Peter Phillips). In 2013, he participated in the 20th edition of the Baroque Academy Ambronay performing L'Orfeo by C. Monteverdi directed by Leonardo García-Alarcón. He participates in the Ensemble Musica & Drama di Alberto Allegrezza with which he performed and recorded La Barca di Venetia per Padova and Il Festino per la sera del giovedì grasso avanti cena by A. Banchieri. In 2011, he co-founded RossoPorpora Ensemble directed by Walter Testolin, vocal and instrumental ensemble that deepens the study of the madrigal repertoire and choral Baroque. From 2013 a member of EsaConsort, a male ensemble exploring the vocal repertoire a cappella from the Renaissance to our time.
In addition, since January 2005 Guglielmo Buonsanti has worked in Marketing and Communication Office of Pantarhei in Vicenza. Since 2014, he works at Dramatodia in Bologna. He currently lives in Vicenza, Italy. |
