For his revival of the work, J.S. Bach adapted it to his own performance conventions. He reinforced the voices of the 1st choir with 4 stringed instruments, and those of the 2nd choir with 4 wind instruments, also adding a continuo part consisting of an organ, a harpsichord and a violone. |
