Johann Christian Lindner enrolled at the Thomaschule on May 18, 1720; studied there from 1720 to 1726; and at Universität Leipzig in 1726. He was one of J.S. Bach's copyists from 1723 to 1724, appearing in the manuscripts as Anon. Ik. After his studies, he worked as Deacon in Olbernhau, Saxony from 1738 until his death in 1743.
