Christian Samuel Heuckenrott [[Christianus Samuel Heuckenrott; Christianus Samuel Heückenrodt]] was born the son of Johann Heuckenrott (Pastor in Priesteblich). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on May 21, 1721; studied there from 1721 to 1727; and at Universität Leipzig from 1726. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. After his studies, he worked as Substitute from 1733 and Pastor from 1745 in Priesteblich. His younger brother, Carl Hermann Heuckenrott (1716-1734) was also a Thomaner (1732-1734)
