Carl Hermann Heuckenrott was born the son of Johann Heuckenrott (Pastor in Priesteblich). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on May 12, 1732; and studied there from 1732 to 1734, since April 20, 1730 already as external. He died as an alumne. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. His elder brother, Christian Samuel Heuckenrott (1705-1763), was also a Thomaner (1721-1727).
