The German flutist and conductor, Hajo Wienroth, studes at the University of Oldenburg (modern flute), and at the Akademie für Alte Musik Bremen (traversflute and keyed flute with Marten Root). He also attended master-classes with Wilbert Hazelzet, Lisa Beznosiuk and Barthold Kuijken.
In 1995-1996 Hajo Wienroth was principal flautist of the European Baroque Orchestra. He worked together with Reinhard Goebel, Roy Goodman and Jos van Veldhoven. In 1996 he took part in CD recording of Simon Heighes' reconstruction of the St. Mark's Passion (BWV 247) by J.S. Bach. Hae has given concerts in radio and TV as soloist and principal flautist in many European and non- European countries (Germany (WDR, Radio Bremen), Spain, England, Italy, France, Belgium, Denmark, Chec Republic, Poland, Slovenia). Since 1994 he works in construction of handcrafted traversflutes. In 1995 he founded the ensemble Le Chardon to perform French Baroque music on period instruments.
In 1998 Hajo Wienroth made recordings for Radio Bremen of largely unknown Sonatas composed by J.S. Bach's-pupil Johann Adolph Scheibe. Edition of a largely unknown collection of flute sonatas composed by Antoine Mahaut, 1999 at Broekmans en van Poppel in Amsterdam, 1997 CD recording of this collection. In 1999: he took part in Rudolf Kelber's CD recording of another reconstruction of the St. Mark´s Passion (BWV 247) by J.S. Bach in Hamburg. In 2000: he recorded a Londoner Trio by Haydn at the WDR.
In 2003 Hajo Wienroth made chamber music CD of well-known and unknown music by Georg Philipp Telemann among others with the title "Die Luft ertönt vom Schalle". In 2007 CD with works by J.A. Scheibe, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and M. Clementi, together with Winfried Dahlke. In 2007 CD Arias by J.S. Bach and George Frideric Handel for counter-tenor and orchestra together with rediscovered concertos and doubleconcertos for flute, oboe and violin by Johann Joachim Quantz, Johann Friedrich Fasch, G.P. Telemann. Soloists: Maarten Engeltjes counter-tenor, Hajo Wienroth traversflute, Mark Baigent oboe and Simon Standage violin. With this CD production: live recording by NDR of a concert at the International Musikfest in Seelze broadcasted on July 6, 2007. In 2008 CD with quartets by J.B. Viotti, together with Hajo Wienroth (keyed flute), Simon Standage (violin), Huw Daniel (viola) and Poppy Walshaw (cello). In 2008 CD "Bleibt ihr Engel, bleibt bei mir..." Cantatas and arias by J.S. Hajo Wienroth owns some original flutes by Johann Gottlieb Streitwolf and anonymous flute builders from the early 19th century, he uses them for recording classical and romantical music. Baroque music he performs on a copy crafted by himself. |
