The German counter-tenor, Ulrich Weller, and studied singing with Gerda van Zelm and Lenie van den Heuvel at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. In addition, he participated in master courses with Jil Feldman and Michael Chance and currently works with the opera singer and vocal teacher Nena Brzakovic.
Engagements have taken Ulrich Weller to the Volksbühne Berlin and the Neuköllner Oper; in 2015 he received a scholarship for a residency with flausen at the Theater Wrede in Oldenburg. His repertoire includes the alto parts of Baroque literature from Monteverdi to Heinrich Schütz, J.S. Bach and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi.
Ulrich Weller has made CD recordings with the Dresdner Kammerchor (Director: Hans-Christoph Rademann) and the ensemble Sirventes as well as the ensemble Capella Daleminzia, where he participated in the first recording of the Cantiones Sacrae for six voices by Melchior Vulpius. |
