The Dutch soprano and singing teacher, Lenie van den Heuvel, obtained her diplomas as Teaching and Peforming Musician in 1983 at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag (Royal Conservatoire in The Hague) with Marianne Dieleman. She also took lessons and master-classes with Annie Hermes, Evelyn Lear and Elisabeth Söderström.
From August 1983 to August 2004, Lenie van den Heuvel was a member of the Nederlands Kamerkoor (NCC). She made several CD recordings with this ensemble, and worked with conductors such as Eric Ericson, John Alldis, Paul van Nevel, Tõnu Kaljuste, Philippe Herreweghe, Kent Nagano, Ton Koopman, William Christie and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. As a soloist she performed in productions lead by Hartmut Haenchen, Jos van Immerseel, Lev Markiz, Uwe Gronostay and Frans Brüggen.
Lenie van den Heuvel has also participated as soloist in oratoria and various other productions. Since September 1992, she has been a singing teacher at the Royal Conservatoire, and from 2003, after concluding her career with the Nederlands Kamerkoor, she has devoted herself entirely to the education and coaching of singers. Among her pupils: Robert Brouwer (Baritone). She currently lives in The Hague, the Netherlands. |
