The German baritone, Johannes Schwarz, started his musical education on the french horn, finishing a degree in music and history at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. Currently he is studying Master Opera at at Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover under the tutelage of Professor Peter Anton Ling. His studies have been generously funded by the Gutenberg-scholarship as well as the Oscar und Vera Ritter-Stiftung and the Wagner Society. Master-classes with Thomas Quasthoff, Ingeborg Danz, Peter Schreier, Michael Nagy could further enhance his studies.
Johannes Schwarz' concert revenues as a soloist include the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Semperoper Dresden with partners such as Jan Schumacher, Howard Arman, Jörg-Peter Weigle, Andreas Spering, to name a few. He sang with orchestras such as the Göttingen and Osnabrück Symphonic Orchestras, Göttinger Barockorchester, Barockorchester L'Arco, Neue Philharmonie and others. Recent concerts include orchestral songs by Hans Sommer in Braunschweig Stadthalle, W.A. Mozart Requiem in Hamburg Laeiszhalle, Lied Recitals at Kassel Lied Festival and others.
Johannes Schwarz is prize-winner of Rheinsberg international singing competition as well as the Haydn Competition and Talente Campus of the Berlin Philharmonic Choir. In 2020 he won the Concorso di Musica Sacra in Rome and became a prize winner of the Robert Schumann-Competition in Zwickau (2021). He currently lives in Hannover, Germany, |
