The German mezzo-soprano, Inga Schneider, studied violin and singing at the Hanover School of Music and Drama. During her studies, she was a member of the Barockorchester L'ARCO and a singer in various ensembles. She completed her singing training at the Den Haag Conservatoire and at the New Opera Academy, Amsterdam, specialising in early and new music.Her artistic maturity exam was distinguished with cum laude.
Inga Schneider has participated in concerts with various early music ensembles in her homeland and abroad, in broadcast recordings as well as various opera productions. She performed operatic roles in W.A. Mozart's Magic Flute, Così fan tutte, The Marriage of Figaro, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and in three operettes by Milhaud. In the field of oratorio, her repertoire extends to numerous cantatas, J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), Mass in B Minor (BWV 232) and the Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248). Intermezzi and Cantatas of the early and late Baroque also feature amongst her preferred vocal works.
Since 2000 Inga Schneider is a singer with "Buffo the Operamaker", a society for experimental theater-music, and has been working with the professional chamber choir Cappella Amsterdam, directed by Daniel Reuss. Since 1992 she is connected with the Jugendchor St. Petrus as a voice trainer. Besides she has sung solo parts in numerous concerts. |
