The German mezzo-soprano and contralto, Hanna Roos, studied in the Artistic training courses and graduated as music teacher of singing with Professor Bernd Göpfert in Freiburg. She was a student in the Lieder class of Professor Hans Peter Müller. She completed her degree in vocal methodology in 2009 with distinction, the artistic dgree she completed in May 2011, with two-time top score. She received valuable artistic and vocal suggestions by partipating in master-classes with Margreet Honig (Amsterdam), Elisabeth Glauser (Fribourg/Bern), Snezana Nena Brzakovic (Berlin/OperOderSpree) and Kammersänger Peter Maus (Berlin/OperOderSpree). In addition, private studies with Elisabeth Glauser, Susanna Eken (Copenhagen), Towako Sato-Schöllhorn (Freiburg), Dan-Olof Stenlund (Malmö) and Cornelia Karle (Stuttgart) supplemented her vocal training.
In her parents' home Hanna Roos was from early childhood engaged with music and studied piano, recorder, viola and singing. After high school she first completed a school music studies at the Freiburger Musikhochschule (major in piano, performance in singing, focus on Jazz ) having singing lessons with Professor Bernd Göpfert, Jazz singing with Fola Dada and Annette Bolz, Jazz ensemble with Professor Ralf Schmid. She also passed her 2010 First State Exam in German studies at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg.
The great oratorios parts in old form in addition to a wide repertoire of Lieder are the focus of of Hanna Roos’ solo singing. Concert engagements have led her to France, China, Switzerland, Poland and Belgium. She gained opera experience inter alia as Third Lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte in Frankfurt. With her duo partner, the pianist Kyra Steckeweh she gives concerts regularly in various German cities.
Hanna Roos is a freelancer of the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart and is regularly undertakes projects for the Balthasar-Neumann-Ensemble (Director: Thomas Hengelbrock) and the Orpheus Vokalensembles. For her outstanding solo performances with the latter ensemble, she received in 2007 the prestigious Bruno-Frey-Preis of the Landesakademie Ochsenhausen.
Besides her concert activity Hanna Roos works as a freelance singing teacher in Freiburg as well as a choir director and vocal coach in the singing club “Chorios“ Vörstetten. |
