The Chilean mezzo-soprano, Evelyn Ramírez, studied at the University of Chile with Carmen Luisa Letelier.
Evelyn Ramírez' operatic roles have included the title role in Georges Bizet's Carmen, Isabella in L’italiana in Alegeri, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Orlovsky in Die Fledermaus, Osini in Lucrezia Borgia, Néron in L’incoronazione di Poppea, and Bertarido in Rodelinda, among others. She has also performed as soloist in choral-orchestral works by Igor Stravinsky, Faust, Gustav Mahler, L.v. Beethoven, and George Frideric Handel, among others.
Evelyn Ramírez has received awards including the Círculo de Críticos for Rodelinda (Argentina) and the Diapasón de Oro for Il Diluvio Universale (France), in addition to being nominated for the Altazor and Círculo de Críticos Award for Carmen and Best Opera Singer. |
