The German bass, Karsten [Carsten] Müller, developed his passion for singing in the Knabenchor der Jenaer Philharmonie. He has since been in other choirs, gaining valuable singing experience under the direction of renowned conductors such as Holger Speck, Morten Schuldt-Jensen, Gert Frischmuth, Frieder Bernius and Howard Arman. During his studies of Speech Science he had from 2005 additional singing studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig. There he was first pupil of Professor Christina Wartenberg and since 2008 of Professor Roland Schubert, who accompanied him on his diploma in 2012 and the Master degree.
Since then, Karsten Müller has appeared in numerous solo performances, among others at the Händelfestspielen in Halle (Saale), MDR-Musiksommer, Bachfest Leipzig and Musikfestival Rheingau. In summer 2011 he was a prize-winner at the International Singing Competition of Sacred Music "CantateBach" in Greifswald. He gained experience in opera as Admiral Lefort in Lortzing's Zar und Zimmermann in the Musikalischen Komödie Leipzig, as Don Alfonso in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan tutte at the HMT Leipzig, and as Baculus in Lortzing's opera Der Wildschütz at the Staatsschauspiel in Dresden.
Karsten Müller is a board and a founding member of the ensemble Chapelle de la Vigne and as bass in the a-cappella vocal ensemble"SLIXS". |
