The German contralto, Susanne Krumbiegel, was born into a a musical family. After completing her secondary education at the Spezialschule für Musik Leipzig-Markkleeberg, she she went on to study music teaching and singing at the at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt“ in Weimar.
Since 1989, Susanne Krumbiegel has given countless concerts and Lieder recitals to great acclaim all over Germany. She has sung under such famous conductors as Thomaskantor Georg Christoph Biller, Kreuzkantor Roderich Kreile, Helmuth Rilling, Frieder Bernius and Ton Koopman. Together with the organist Matthias Eisenberg, the actor/speaker Gert Westphal and the pianist Peter Stamm, she has performed programmes combining music and literature.
Susanne Krumbiegel has appeared as a guest at the Rheingau Musik Festival, Musiktagen Hitzacker, Musikfestspielen Potsdam, Bachfest Leipzig, Schwetzinger Festspielen, Herbstlichen Musiktagen Bad Urach, Barockfest Würzburg, MDR-Musiksommer Musikfest and Sächsisch-Böhmischen Musikfest. Guest concerts led her to Japan, Poland, Russia, Holland, Austria, Spain, Italy and France.
Her discography includes numerous CD's as well as recordings for the radio and television networks, MDR, Deutschland Radio, 3Sat, SWR, NDR and Arte. |
