The Czech baritone, Marián Krejčík, studied law at the Univerzita Karlova v Praze (Charles University in Prague.). Alreeady during his studies, he devoted himself as a member of the leading Czech Baroque ensembles (such as Ensemble Inégal, Collegium Marianum, Musica Florea, Trifolium Musicae) intensely to authentic interpretation of early music. Directed by Davida Ebena, whose semiology courses he attended at the Prague Faculty of Philosophy, as a member of the Schola Gregoriana Pragensis he participated in several recordings, some of which reached the top awards at home and abroad. In 2003 he began his singing studies with Bjørn Waage at Musik-Akademie in Basel, where he obtained his teaching degree with honours in 2007. In June 2009 he completed his singing studies with Elisabeth Glauser at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, obtaining a concert diploma. During his studies he also attended many opera and singing courses, directed by Krisztina Láki, Jennifer Larmore and Malin Hartelius, among others.
Marián Krejčík performs regularly throughout Europe as a soloist with numerous orchestras and ensembles, including Basel Sinfonietta, Barockorchester Capriccio Basel, Concertino Basel, Berner Kammerorchester, Orquesta Sinfonica de Granada, Holland Baroque Society, Le Parlement de Musique, and Collegium 1704, among others. In previous years, he worked closely with Origen Culture Festival in the Swiss canton of Grisons, in which he participated in the premieres of several contemporary operas. In the 2005-2006 season he performed on stage at Theater Basel as Nüblingově (?) in Dido and Aeneas, a role in which he also appeared at the Berlin Theatertreffen in 2007 In the 2008-2009 season he made his debut as Melissa in George Frideric Handel's Alcina at Potsdam’s Hans-Otto-Theater under the direction of Andrea Marcon. In the summer of 2009, he appeared at the Académie Baroque Européenne d'Ambronay, where he enjoyed success as Leporello and Papageno under the baton of Martin Gester.
Apart from Baroque oratorios, which are an integral part of his repertoire, and classical literature, Marián Krejčík is fond of romantic Lieder and dedicates himself to contemporary music and literature. |
