Henning Jendritza (Tenor)

Born: Germany

The German tenor, Henning Jendritza, first studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Rheinischen-Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität in Bonn and received his basic vocal training from the soprano Dorothea Kares in Brühl. He then began studying singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Professor Lioba Braun, from which he graduated with Bachelor of Music degree with top marks (2014-2018). He gained further experience through additional lessons with various lecturers at home and abroad. He attended master-classes with Thomas Heyer, Stephan MacLeod, Delfo Menicucci, Dietrich Hilsdorf, Josef Loibl and Philippe Jaroussky. He was also a scholarship holder of the Bischöflichen Studienförderung Cusanuswerk and the Richard-Wagner-Verbands. He is the 2016 winner of the International BECA Bach Competition in Barcelona.

Henning Jendritza feels very at home in the concert and oratorio area. He has already sung all important specialist roles and has worked with orchestras such as the Bergische Symphoniker, Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Concerto Köln, Kourionorchester Münster, Concert Royal Köln, Orquestra Barroca Catalana and the Cappella Augustana under the direction of Andreas Spering. He sang the solo parts several times in various J.S. Bach's cantatas in Köln and Bonn, at the Spanish BACHcelona: Festival Bach de Barcelona (2016), as well as in the large ten-year cycle Bach:vokal in Stuttgart with the Stiftsbarock Stuttgart under the direction of Kay Johannsen. Further concert engagements have taken him to the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, ​​Kölner Philharmonie, Kölner Dom, Osnabrück Dom, Münchner Herkulessaal, Bachfest Leipzig (June 2019) and Haydn-Festival der Brühler Schlosskonzerte (February 2020).

In May 2016, Henning Jendritza made his role debut as Monostatos in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Joburg Theater (Johannesburg, South Africa), staged by Christoph Dammann and under the musical direction of Desar Sulejmani. In 2017 & 2019 he performed as a tenor soloist in J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) staged by Gregor Horres in Bonn & Leipzig. In the 2017-2018 season he appeared with the Kammeroper München as Cecco in Haydn's Die Welt auf dem Mond at the Theater Schaffhausen in Switzerland and Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich (2017) and sang the part of Oronte in George Frideric Handel's opera Alcina at the Theater Solingen (May 2018).

In 2019 the first recording of Christoph Förster's cantata Jauchzt ihr frohen Christenscharen with Concert Royal Köln was released on the Musicaphon Records label.
