The Indiana University Singers is the oldest continuing choral ensemble in the School of Music at Indiana University and was founded by Wilfred C. Bain while he was Dean of the School of Music over 50 years ago. Conducted by Professor Jan Harrington for 30 years, the group is composed of 24 to 32 of the finest singers carefully selected from the School of Music student population. Many alumni of this choir have gone on to have major professional careers.
The choir's repertoire has ranged from the Renaissance through the 21st Century. Recently the choir has been specializing in the extended works of J.S. Bach as well as continuing to perform a richly varied series of concerts exploiting the wide range of colors available to the virtuoso chamber choir.
