The French bass-baritone, Geoffroy Heurard, studied at Les Francs-Bourgeois in Paris (Class of 1993). He studied music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMDP), where he obtained his DFS (Diplomas of Superior Performance) degree in singing (1998-2002), and at the Université Paris Sorbonne (Paris IV), where he obtained his Master degree in Musicology (1999-2005). He worked especially the the Lied and French Melodie, as well as the Baroque repertoire with Emmanuelle Haïm. Winner of the Lavoisier scholarship, he dediated 3 years to to perfected his art at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria (Class of 2003), especially in the Lied and Oratorio Class of Charles Spencer. He attended master-classes with Walter Berry, Craig Rutenberg, Jean-Christophe Benoît, Russel Ryan, Pierre Mervant, Rachel Yakar, David Pittman Jennings, Nicole Fallien and with the vocal group of King's Singers.
Selected for the 5th European Opera Forum in Arles, Geoffroy Heurard can also be heard on stage in the role of Budd in Albert Herring by Benjamin Britten or Ben in The Telephone by Menotti and contemporary operas.
Fascinated by the art of the recital, Geoffroy Heurard recently performed in Paris Die Winterreise by Schubert, Liederkreis and Dichterliebe by Robert Schumann and songs by Henri Duparc. He sings regularly in recitals in Toulouse, Lyon, Ghent and Geneva accompanied by pianist Antoine Palloc or Yann Molenat. In 2007 he was a semi-finalist at the Concours International de la Mélodie Française de Toulouse.
Geoffroy Heurard also performs with the Ensemble Correspondances (Director: Sébastien Daucé), Ensemble Pygmalion (Director: Raphaël Pichon), Les Cris de Paris (Director: Geoffroy Jourdain), Les Arts Florissants (Director: William Christie), La Chapelle Harmonique (Director: Valentin Tournet) or La Main Harmonique (Director: Frédéric Bétou).
Winner of the Fondation Banque populaire, Geoffroy Heurard founded in 2011 the Ensemble Perspectives , bringing together five singers and exploring the richness of the vocal a-cappella repertoire, from Janequin to Ligeti, as well as Duke Ellington and the Beatles. The ensemble is supported by Fondation Orange since 2013. Geoffroy Heurard is married to Rossignol Charlotte and currently lives in Orléans, France. |
