The Swiss tenor, Achim Glatz, gained his first singing experiences as a boy soprano in the Solothurn Singknaben. After longtime music training, specializing in violin, piano and singing, he decided for singing studies at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK). Studying there with Professor Scot Weir, he obtained successfully both the Bachelor of Arts in Music and the Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy degree with a minor subject for choral conducting (2012). Since then he continues his training at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Professor Ulrich Messthaler.
Achim Glatz sings in several professional vocal ensembles and has several appearances as a soloist and recitalist in Switzerland. His repertoire includes mainly Lieder, oratorios and sacred music. In addition to his his work as a singer, he is active as a choral conductor and vocal coach. He also has a job as a music teacher at the ROJ middle schools in Solothurn and works part-time as a luthier. |
