The Estonian conductor, Albert Frommelt, received piano lessons at age 15. He conducted for the first time when he was 18, when he worked for a concert of the Musikvereins Triesen, replacing the conductor. During his German studies at the Fribourg University, he began to take piano lessons at the Conservatory. Soon afterwards he moved to the Akademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna. From 1966 to 1971 he studied school music, with a focus on clarinet, piano, singing and choral conducting and graduated with honours in choir and ensemble directing.
From 1971 until his retirement in 2007, Albert Frommelt was a teacher at the Liechtensteinische Gymnasium and the Liechtensteinischen Musikschule. With different courses, he specialised further in conducting. For some semesters he studied orchestral conducting at the Edgar Seipenbusch in Innsbruck. |
