Michael Feyfar (Tenor)

Born: 1979 - Switzerland

The Swiss tenor, Michael Feyfar, received his first singing training in the Knabenkantorei Basel. At 16, he received first singing lessons with Christina Aeschbach, soon after the beginning of music studies in the subjects of the horn with B. Schneider in Geneva and singing (as a young student) with Professor Frieder Lang at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Bern/Biel. After two years, he focused entirely on singing. In the summer of 2003, he finished his singing studies in Bern. He had further training by attending in master-classes with Professor Jakob Stämpfli, Hans-Peter Blochwitz, Krisztina Láki, Marga Schiml and Hans-Joachim Beyer.

Performances as a concert singer and Evangelist, as in J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) (arias), Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) (Evangelist and arias), Oster-Oratorium (BWV 249) and Lukas-Passion (BWV 246) (arias and recitatives), and other oratorios, for example, Oratorio de Noel by Camille Saint-Saëns, Messias, Brockes-Passion, HWV 48 (George Frideric Handel) and others. In addition, he participates in professional vocal ensembles (Cantus Firmus Solothurn, ensemble Corund Luzern, Mozart-Ensemble Luzern).

From October 2003 Michael Feyfar continued his studies in the concert class of Donald Litaker at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe.
