The Amewrican lyric coloratura soprano, Julianna Emanski, studied at Bishop Hoban High School (2000-2004). She received her education at the Temple University (Bachelor of Music Education, 2004-2008), University of North Texas (Master of Music, 2007-2011), Cornish College of the Arts (Artist Diploma, 2012-2013), Seattle Central Community College (Grant Writing Certification, September 2013-May 2014), University of North Texas (Doctor of Musical Arts, August 2014-2017).
Julianna Emanski has gained attention for her three octave performance range and a high extension that “soars ecstatically” and is “simply gorgeous” (Music Web International). Her versatility of musical styles allows her to perform repertoire from the 12-century chants of Hildegard von Bingen to coloratura repertoire such as the Queen of the Night from W.A. Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Zerbinetta from Richard Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, and Cunegonde from Leonard Bernstein’s Candide, leaving in her wake unique musical experiences that are “simply to die for.” (Musical Mayhem)
Julianna Emanski can be heard on the South Dakota Chorale’s 2015 and 2016 album releases under Pentatone records. Her vocal artistry has been praised on Ēriks Ešenvalds O Salutaris Hostia. In addition, Ms. Emanski’s work appears on Blizzard Entertainment’s soundtracks for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, and World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor.
As an enthusiast of lesser known repertoire, Julianna Emanski has found performance success as a revivalist of lost works. Her voice can be heard on the world premiere recording of Giovanni Felice Sances' Missa Sancta Maria Magdalenae (Viva Italia!), as well as Pentatone label’s upcoming release Tyberg Masses with the South Dakota Chorale. She has sung the title roles in the North American premieres of the 1732 version of George Frideric Handel’s oratorio Esther and Reinhard Keiser’s opera Der Sieg der fruchtbaren Pomona. While living in Seattle, shei co-founded Queen City Musicians, an ensemble dedicated to performing lesser known Baroque repertoire.
Julianna Emanski's current professional singing engagements include appearances with South Dakota Chorale (South Dakota), Dallas Bach Society (Texas), Austin Baroque Orchestra (Texas), Mountainside Baroque (Maryland), Denton Bach Society (Texas), Rose Ensemble (Minnesota), Duke Vespers Ensemble (North Carolina), and The Choral PickUp (Georgia).
Julianna Emanski is highly specialized in Baroque repertoire. She has performed at every major Baroque summer program in North America: Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute (Ohio), Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute (Toronto), Amherst Early Music Festival (Connecticut), American Bach Soloists Academy (San Francisco), Accademia d’Amore (Seattle), Early Music Vancouver Summer Programme and Festival (Vancouver), Baroque Opera Workshop at Queens College (New York City), and International Baroque Institute of Longy (Boston), Boston Early Music Festival (Massachusetts), Berkeley Early Music Festival (California).
Julianna Emanski currently resides in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with her 29 year old cockatiel named Walter T. Bird. She maintains a private vocal studio, and also considers herself a savvy entrepreneur who is self taught in photography, website design, and graphic design. |
