The Italian mezzo-soprano, Anna Bessi, was a pupil of A. Tabiadon and E. Furlà. She later studied with Roberta Invernizzi and M. Custer. She has taken part in master-classes with Sergio Foresti, Roberta Invernizzi, Gloria Banditelli and G. Garrido. Furthermore, she has studied Baroque vocal technique with Adriana Fernández and Rosa Domínguez, Gregorian chant with G. Baroffio, Renaissance polyphony with D. Fratelli and Baroque repertoire with R. Gini.
Anna Bessi is a founding member of the Costanzo Porta choir, conducted by A. Greco, and of the C. Porta consort, with which she has recorded unpublished madrigals by D. Personè. She has performed as a soloist at festivals like Musica e Poesia in San Maurizio (Milan), Festival Monteverdi (Cremona), Festival internazionale di concerti per organo (Aosta). As an opera singer, she has performed as the Sorceress in Purcell's "Dido and Aeneas" and as the Cat in Clapasson's children opera "The Giant's Garden". Also with Clapasson she recorded "Genetic Sound", for female voice quartet and instrumental ensemble. She performs regularly with Ars Cantica Choir, R. Maghini choir, the Accademia Bizantina and she has appeared as a soloist with conductors like A. Ceccato and Ottavio Dantone. She also studies dance and theatre with R. Bongini. |
