The French harpsichordist, organist and conductor, Vincent Bernhardt, studied at the CRR of Metz and Lyon, at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. He studied particularly with Andrea Marcon, Jesper Christensen, Yves Rechsteiner, François Espinasse, Liesbeth Schlumberger, Bernhard Haas, Jon Laukvik, Anne-Catherine Bucher, Norbert Pétry and occasionally with Jörg Andreas Bötticher and Lorenzo Ghielmi. He holds four Master instrumental degrees (organ, harpsichord, basso continuo and early organ) and is a winner of the International Competition Gottfried Silbermann Organ of Freiberg (Saxony).
Vincent Bernhardt was engaged as harpsichordist with the European Union Baroque Orchestra at the age of 19, and has also performed with various orchestras including the Orchestre National de Lorraine, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Heidelberger Sinfoniker, Essener Philharmoniker, Le Concert Lorrain, La Chapelle Rhénane, Ensemble Gilles Binchois… In 2009, he created the ensemble Il delirio fantastico, which plays on period instruments, has performed over 60 cantatas by J.S. Bach in monthly concerts in Lyon, and is dedicated to the German and Italian instrumental repertoire of the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.
Vincent Bernhardt was organist of the Festival International de Musique de la Chaise-Dieu and has performed in most European countries as well as in Bolivia. In 2013, he was invited to the Chamber Music Festival Leo Brouwer in Havana to give two concerts with Il delirio fantastico, a organ recital and a master-class on the Daublaine Ducroquet organ at the Church of San Francisco de Paula.
Vincent Bernhardt is a Professor of organ and basso continuo at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Metz-Métropole. |
